"He answered and said to them, “Because it has been given to you to know the [a]mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it has not been given." Mathew 13:11
I want you to imagine a world without Law and Order, how does that look? Is it chaotic, disorderly, and in shambles? It is baffling when people think about God’s laws and frown upon them because they feel they are being restrained, and yet as wicked and unrealible as men are, we obey the laws of men, rather than the One who created and knows what is best for us. As Believers, we must look at the statutes our Father gives us through a lens of love, not constraints. God’s laws were not placed to condemn us but to save us. John 3:17 “For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved”. Let’s examine some of the laws our Father has given us, laws that enable us to live righteously and at peace with God, ourselves, and our neighbors.
1: The Law of Love and Death
John 3:16 “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.”
2: Law of Death for Life - Resurrection
John 11:25-26 Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live. And whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die. Do you believe this?”
Philippians 3:10 “That I may know Him and the power of His resurrection, and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death, if, by any means, I may attain[b] to the resurrection from the dead.”
3: The Law of Humility and Honor
Philippians 2:5-11 “ Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus, who, being in the form of God, did not consider it [b]robbery to be equal with God, but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men. And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross. Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.”
4: The Law of Seeking and Finding
Jeremiah 29:13-14 “And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart. I will be found by you, says the Lord,”
Proverbs 15:2 “It is the glory of God to conceal a matter, But the glory of kings is to search out a matter.”
Matthew 7:7 “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.”
5: The Law of Growth and Increase
1 Samuel 3:19 -20 “So Samuel grew, and the Lord was with him and let none of his words [d]fall to the ground. And all Israel from Dan to Beersheba knew that Samuel had been [e]established as a prophet of the Lord.”
6: Law of Giving and Receiving
Luke 6:38 “Give, and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be put into your bosom. For with the same measure that you use, it will be measured back to you.”
Proverb 11:24-26 “There is one who scatters, yet increases more; And there is one who withholds more than is right, But it leads to poverty. The generous soul will be made rich, And he who waters will also be watered himself. The people will curse him who withholds grain, But blessing will be on the head of him who sells it.”
7: Law of Consistency
James 1:7-8 “For let not that man suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord; he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways.”
Galatians 6:9 “And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.”
8: Law of Value
1 Kings 5:6 “Now therefore, command that they cut down cedars for me from Lebanon; and my servants will be with your servants, and I will pay you wages for your servants according to whatever you say. For you know there is none among us who has skill to cut timber like the Sidonians.”
As we are mandated to live by the laws of this world, so as children of the Most High, and citizens of Heaven, we must also abide by the Laws of the Kingdom of God. A country without the authority of a just and orderly government is a country of setbacks, wars, and deaths. God’s Laws govern the mysteries of His Kingdom and equips us for living a holy and righteous life, preparing us for His Kingdom. As we diligently abide by Kingdom Laws, they become our lifestyle, bringing edification and maturity to our Christian faith and journey.
