In Part One of Channels of Power, we defined power as the ability to enforce a change or compel compliance. It is the capacity to exude both inner and outer strength to the degree that is consistent with God’s will. Using scriptures to validate this doctrine, we establish that God is the source of all power.
Psalms 62:10 "God has spoken once, Twice I have heard this: That power belongs to God."
Luke 10:19 "Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you."
God’s purpose for giving us true, genuine, and authentic power is to rule, have dominion, fulfill destiny, be an effective witness of the resurrected Jesus Christ, and to further His Kingdom agenda. It is important to know the purpose of power, but by what channels or gateway(s) can we access to obtain this supernatural power our Father has bestowed on us? The power of God is activated through the manifestation of the Holy Spirit. This allows the Holy Spirit to be an aide to us in all aspects of our walk with Christ.
Prayer
Acts 4:29-31 "Now, Lord, look on their threats and grant to Your servants that with all boldness they may speak Your word, by stretching out Your hand to heal, and that signs and wonders may be done through the name of Your holy Servant Jesus.” And when they had prayed, the place where they were assembled together was shaken; and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and they spoke the word of God with boldness."
Consecration
Acts 13:2 "As they ministered to the Lord and fasted, the Holy Spirit said, “Now separate to Me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them.”
Faith
Hebrews 11:1 "Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen."
Mark 11:24 24 "Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them."
Luke 17:6 "So the Lord said, “If you have faith as a mustard seed, you can say to this mulberry tree, ‘Be pulled up by the roots and be planted in the sea,’ and it would obey you."
James 2:18-19 "Show me your faith by your work."
Accessing Power
Through Revelation and Consciousness
John 17:3 “And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent.”
Spiritual growth and transformation
1 Samuel 3:19-20 “So Samuel grew, and the Lord was with him and let none of his words [a]fall to the ground. And all Israel from Dan to Beersheba knew that Samuel had been [b]established as a prophet of the Lord.”
2 Timothy 2:15 "Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.”
Ask
James 1:5 “If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him.”
Humility and Fear of the Lord
James 4:7 "Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you."
Luke 14:11 “For whoever exalts himself will be [a]humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted.”
Intimacy with God
Daniel 11:32 “Those who do wickedly against the covenant he shall [a]corrupt with flattery; but the people who know their God shall be strong, and carry out great exploits.”
Acts 1: 8 “But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.”
Mark 3: 14-15 “He appointed twelve[a] that they might be with him and that he might send them out to preach and to have authority to drive out demons.”
Knowledge and Wisdom
Proverbs 24:5: “A wise man is strong; yes, a man of knowledge increases strength;”
Hosea 4:6 “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. Because you have rejected knowledge,”
There is no doubt that the ministry of the Holy Spirit is associated with the works of Power. As children of God, we must fellowship with the Holy Spirit daily, to ensure that the power of God is at work in us and around us consistently. Remember, prayer, faith, and consecration are gateways for the Holy Spirit to deploy the power you need for your everyday living. Having power is not always about miracles and signs, it can be as potent as receiving a revelation from reading scriptures, making sound decisions, or having boldness to speak to a stranger about Jesus Christ. The power of God is your inheritance!
